Batumi boulevard
What to see in Batumi first of all? We advise you to start from the luxurious Batumi Boulevard. The Seaside Park is what distinguishes Batumi from other cities on the planet. Trees, shrubs and flower beds stretch along the seashore for almost 8 km. The old part was founded at the end of the 19th century, and the new one is far from finished.
Long Green Boulevard is the cleanest and most picturesque place in Batumi. Come take a walk along the shady alleys, admire unusual monuments, fountains and drink strong Batumi coffee!
Old city
Historical buildings cover part of Batumi from the Seaport to Petra Melikishvili Street. The old town is appreciated for the beautiful facades of merchant mansions, neat cobbled streets, small squares, nice cafes and wonderful restaurants of Georgian cuisine.
It's nice to walk along narrow streets all day long! Each house in the Old Town has its own history, some of them show the year of construction and the initials of the owners.
Tower "Alphabet"
The original openwork building stands between the seaport and Batumi boulevard. According to the idea, the tower of the Spanish architect Alberto Domingo Cabo was supposed to accommodate an observatory, a television studio, an observation deck and a restaurant. Not everything has been implemented yet! You can admire Batumi from a height of 130 m and dine at the restaurant. The prices are above average, but the food is good. Outside, the spectacular tower is decorated with 33 letters of the Georgian alphabet.
Europe square
The spacious square in the center of the Old Town has changed its names more than once. Until 2006, it was called the Argonauts Square, and today the spirit of the European continent reigns here. The main attraction of the Batumi square in Europe is a tall stele with Medea holding the Golden Fleece in her hands.
Walk to the east end of the square and you will see a beautiful building with a tower and an unusual astronomical clock. Nearby is an instruction on how to use them. Otherwise, you will never guess!
Dancing fountains
There are two places in Batumi where you can see dancing or singing fountains. One attraction is located next to the building of the Wedding Palace, near the Central Entrance to Batumi Boulevard. The iridescent jets of water are beautiful both during the day and in the evening!
A modern light and music fountain is located on the shores of Lake Argodani, near the House of Justice. It works only during the high tourist season - from May to September, at night. Many tourists come to see the beautiful show.
May 6 park
The green area around Lake Nurigel is located in the center of Batumi. Previously, the reservoir was connected to the sea by a channel, and a small steamer for tourists went along it. The modern park is a great place for walking and relaxing with children. Kids are happy to frolic on the rides and ride bicycles along the park paths. Adults come to the lake to fish and watch ducks and cormorants.
Dolphinarium
In the western part of the Park on May 6, there is a dolphinarium - three large communicating pools and a shelter in the form of a visor for spectators. Wonderful shows with dolphins and seals last 30-35 minutes and are held daily.
Despite the coronavirus, the Batumi Dolphinarium has been operating as usual since the summer of 2020, only swimming with dolphins is not yet allowed. For performances from 14:00 to 16:00 a ticket costs 15 GEL, and from 19:00 to 21:00 - 20 GEL. If you want to see the aquarium, you need to pay 4 GEL.

Botanical Garden
A paradise for nature lovers located 9 km from the city. The Botanical Garden is easily accessible by taxi, minibus 31 and bus 10. Plants from all over the world grow on the slopes of the coastal hills. From North America you can easily go to Japan, and from there to New Zealand and Australia.
The territory is so large that it is hardly possible to get around it in a day. Those who are tired of walking are brought up by electric cars. Residents of Georgia pay 8 GEL for entrance, and foreigners - 15 GEL. If you plan to stay in Batumi, we advise you to take a monthly subscription: for two - 50 GEL, and for three - 60 GEL. Cable car "Argo"
To see all the sights of Batumi at a glance, visit the observation deck, which is located on the top of a green hill, at an altitude of 250 m above sea level. To the top - about 2.5 km - tourists are taken by cable car cabins. At the terminal station there is a restaurant and a shop selling souvenirs and Georgian wine. A roundtrip ticket costs 25 GEL. The views from the hill are amazing!
Archaeological Museum
A glimpse into the past of Western Georgia is easy! It is enough to look at the artifacts that were found by archaeologists during excavations in Adjara. The museum halls display ancient pottery, weapons, jewelry, a collection of antique and medieval coins. The ticket costs 3 GEL.
Ethnographic Museum "Borjgalo"
If you do not know what to see in Batumi with children, go to the museum, which is dedicated to the life and life of the indigenous Ajarians. All of its exhibits were created by the hands of the talented master Kemal Turmanidze. You will see replicas of Adjarian houses, craft tools and mannequins in the clothes and interiors of bygone times. The ticket costs 10 GEL. A sightseeing tour of the museum is included in the price.
Cathedral of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin
In 1903, Georgian merchants Zubalashvili hired Italian architects and artists who built a magnificent Catholic church in Batumi. In the 1980s, it was handed over to the Orthodox Church, and today it is the main temple of Batumi.
Admire the neo-Gothic tower shapes, sculptures of the Apostle Andrew the First-Called and St. Nino! We have discerned a special "secret" of the cathedral. There are dolphin figurines on the roof of the building.
Church of St. Nicholas
For more than 150 years there has been an Orthodox church in the center of the city, consecrated in honor of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker. At first, the stone church belonged to the Greek community, and then served as a cathedral in Batumi. It's nice that the historical monument is kept in perfect condition. Beautiful mosaic icons are visible on the fence. Everyone is allowed inside free of charge.
Piazza
Opposite the Church of St. Nicholas is the modern landmark of Batumi - the luxurious Piazza, which was built in the likeness of St. Mark's Square in Venice. Bars, shops and a restaurant are located in a small square space. The colorful facades of the houses and the clock tower perfectly convey the romantic spirit of Italy. Only the "Mimino" cafe reminds of Georgia, where delicious barbecue, fried red mullet, khinkali and ojakhuri are prepared.
Probably, there is no tourist who would come to Batumi and not take a picture of a moving sculpture by the sea! The touching statue of Tamara Kvesitadze has become a real symbol of love between a man and a woman raised in different cultures. A mesmerizing show lasts 10 minutes. Two figures slowly "swim up" to each other, connect and diverge to become one again.
