The Japanese have a saying: “Food, as a person, cannot appear naked in society". Perhaps no other kitchen in the world pays so much attention to table setting and serving dishes as in Japanese. Have you noticed this when dining in Japanese restaurants?

Features of Japanese cuisine

Table setting in Japanese cuisine strikes in places of traditional rest, when you come to a certain time and the table has already been set. There are some incomprehensible clay and metal structures, under them the laying of dry fuel.

On them are small portioned plates for one person, covered with lids. A Japanese woman comes out, sets fire to fuel under each plate, and the contents begin to cook right in front of you.

In general, a wide variety of interesting dishes are used in serving, where a little rice, fish, egg, pickled daikon... This is a Japanese ritual.

Where to try Japanese food in Japan

There are three types of catering in Japan where you can taste or taste Japanese cuisine. First - traditionalwhere food is a kind of ritual. The second kind - restaurant chain, which are more focused on the process of preparing a variety of Japanese dishes.

As a rule, a grill is mounted right in the center of the table for 4 people and there is an extractor hood. In such establishments, as we have already said in previous articles, it is customary to take off your shoes, and your feet are lowered into a special recess under the table, which allows you to rest comfortably.

Japanese waiters bring you different types of raw meat, and you cook it yourself right at the table. Often, next to such grills there are small stoves with pots, in which there are already herbs. And when asked, it is enough to dip it into this saucepan for a few seconds, and it is ready.

We had a chance to try marbled beef in such ways from Japanese cuisine, it turned out very tasty, for some reason it always turns out deliciously at a party. To be honest, we really liked this scheme of cooking Japanese cuisine, namely marbled beef.

With the help of a portable mini - barbecue, we built something similar in our country house. Convenient - fried two pieces of meat, ate and then you sit, chatting with friends. But to be honest, Russian kebab has always been closer to my liking.

And nevertheless, the shish kebab tends to cool down, then the cooking scheme in Japanese cuisine helps, you do not need to run, right at your table there is where to warm up the cooled piece of meat. In this regard, we say thank you to the Japanese!

And the third type of Japanese catering is fast food, where you can taste rolls. In the center of the hall there is a dispensing line with ready meals. Guests sit around and take any plate. The main thing is to put a plate on your table so that at the end of the meal the waiters can calculate your order.

There are ten types of prices and, accordingly, ten plates, very convenient. In such establishments, they do not take off their shoes before entering, since there is high traffic. The third type of Japanese cuisine establishment includes many noodle, where a variety of flavored noodles are prepared.

Japanese Restaurant Service and Features

The service in restaurants in Japan is very fast, you sit down at a table and a waitress flies up to you with a menu. The restaurant service is very fast and respectful.

The waiter is called here in one word - "Shimisen", translated from Japanese "Sorry". Typically, when you sit on a traditional mat on the floor, you sit low. The waiter walks over and kneels down to write down your order.

Rudeness, very well developed in Russian restaurants for Japanese restaurants, is nonsense, in the truest sense of the word.

Who is the first to be served in Japanese restaurants?

How many times we went to restaurants in search of new flavors of Japanese cuisine, we noticed one pattern. In the evening, mostly men sit in restaurants in Japan. During the day, in mass establishments, Japanese of different sexes are almost equally divided, there is a large flow of men, women, children with mothers, old people.

By the way, according to our observations, the Japanese drink a lot and everything in a row: beer, sake or sake beer washed down. The fact is that the quality of ingredients and products in Japan is very high, therefore, having drunk a lot of sake and beer in the evening, you can safely run a hundred-meter distance in the morning, you will not feel unwell.

If you are going to travel around Japan, we definitely recommend visiting the shopping arcade with souvenirs, an observation deck in Tokyo, and a trip to the mayor's office, but you should definitely end your trip by tasting Japanese cuisine in one of the country's restaurants.
